Why does Carl Crawford need to bust his butt? He already has his money. He will have the assorted “nagging” injuries for the rest of his career, just watch. Boston made a very smart move and got the anti Crawford in Gomes. Just watch, he’ll do more in half a season than Crawford did in 2 years.n He will actually care about winning and losing, unlike the guys they got rid of. Boston realized that high priced prima donnas are not worth the trouble. First care about winning games then worry about being paid – not the other way around.

How worth it was Nomar paying him for 162 games a year and having him show up for less than 100 per?

Crawford only played 109 games in 2008 and also missed 18 games in 2007.

Per Wiki in 2007: “In the second half of the season, Crawford had a sore right wrist which had been bothering him for some time, and he did not hit a home run for a period of 42 days. ”

Couple that with the last 2 seasons in which he alternated between being injured and being comfuckingpletely useless….and yeah, I’d say L.A. has a big expensive question mark…..

At least Boston only had 2 years of questionable injury history….LA has FOUR….and at the price Boston paid after 2….

Why? I don’t remember Crawford being an injury prone player until the Boston medical staff got ahold of him. I’ll propose Carl Crawford, your 2013 NL MVP, just to make Boston Fans cry. Or maybe AGon will edge him in a narrow decision.

And in typical Red Sox free agent signing fashion, it will hinder him all season and then result in him missing all of the second year of his contract.

The impact probably caused a tendon in his elbow or wrist to come unglued. Won’t show up until mid-April.
