According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez left Saturday’s Cactus League game against the Angels because of a left knee strain.

Ramirez suffered the injury while hustling to second base on a bloop double down the left field line. It was his first hit so far in this year’s Cactus League.

The Brewers will likely reevaluate him on Sunday.

Ramirez, 34, batted .300/.360/.540 with 50 doubles, 27 home runs and 105 RBI in 149 games last season after inking a three-year, $36 million free agent contract over the winter. Jeff Bianchi and Taylor Green will get reps at the hot corner for now.

Was it a strain or a sprain because there is a big difference between the two. A strain is a muscle/tendon injury while a sprain is a ligament injury and meniscus injury can also be considered sprain.

I can’t believe I keep forgetting what kind of season he had for the Brew Crew last year. Also, this is why I find it funny that people complain about the WBC potentially injuring players needlessly… is it any sillier than spraining your knee during a spring training game? That crap happens ALL the time
