He’s from Curaçao (used to be Netherlands Antilles I believe). I am guessing many of the good Dutch players are from there. They are regularly represented at the Little League World Series.

Awesome performance by the Netherlands. It wasn’t all that long ago that they never could beat Cuba, but the last four games (two in the world cup, one in as a pre-WBC exhibition, and this one) they managed to come out on top.

I wonder though, if this has any impact on the demand for free agents (released players) Curt Smith and Dashenko Ricardo.
