To what mythical trade are you making reference? Dickey and Johnson were acquired in two different deals. Also, I don’t think your realignment plan is feasible: the Washington / Baltimore area already has as many MLB teams as it can handle. Feel free to make a phallic joke of “Dickey and Johnson”, however. That seems about your speed.

It’s funny how he has become the forgotten man in Toronto but he could end up being their best pitcher. He will be one and done in Toronto but only because that’s the plan, kids will step into the 5 spot next year.

So far, Johnson has been having a great spring training. He also finished 2012 quite well. This season, he will also be facing a lot of #3, #4 and #5 starters. He is hot and motivated, grab him early for your fantasy team.

Stretching it a little in regards to the injury being a contributing factor. It’s pretty clear that the main reasons Lohse is without a home are that: a) he’s attached to first-round draft pick compensation, and b) he’s still out there looking for a three-year deal with a high AAV in early March.

Meanwhile, Jake Peavy got 2 and $29mil after having a surgery no other baseball player has ever had before; Dan Haren had back issues and got 1/$13mil, and Brandon McCarthy got drilled in the skull with a line drive and still got 2 years and $15.5mil. Hell, Mike Pelfrey just had surgery and got a 1-year, $4mil deal from the Twins.

Kyle Loshe is 34 and asking for multiple years and a heap of cash. Bryan Wilson (according to your colleagues) is not even auditioning for a contract until fully healed. These guys are not at all comparable to Josh Johnson.

You are right. 2013 is a huge contract year for JJ… but your prose is garbage and your reasoning is not sound. Your fourth paragraph is nothing but two fragment sentences. Get it together.

A 3.81 ERA in the NL will not work so well in the AL East, Josh will be one and done in toronto and when the smoke clears on this trade the jays will clearly be on the losing end. Thats without even getting into his injury history which isnt not good by any means. Dickey is the only pitcher in this trade that has a shot at being decent in the AL East, Bottom line, different year, same old bluejays, its time to join the expos….
