Huh?

He threw more than 200 innings once, topping out at 206.

The only thing he has in common with Lincecum is that they are both pitchers. They don't use the same hand, Lincecum was better than Kazmir ever was, nothing similar about their pitching styles or repertoires. That's like saying Mark Fidrych was Scott Kazmir before Scott Kazmir was.

Pitchers break. Pitching is a horribly unnatural motion that puts more stress on the shoulder and elbow than they are designed to bear.....the vast majority of pitcher injuries have nothing to do with over use.

I nominate "small sample size" as the most overused and misguided term of the new season. It is baseball, not the Neilsen ratings .The guy is a pitcher who fell to the far reaches of the bush leagues.. If he makes the team, starts some games and helps his team, then that comprises a successful comeback. No calculator needed. Watch and enjoy. It is better that way, believe me.

Amazing he is only 29.

It was too bad things turned for him so sharply and so quickly. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in the bigs.

Being left handed probably helped him get this opportunity to show what he can do. So far, he has made the most out of this opportunity and will probably be pitching either in the Majors or in Triple A this season.
