They sent him in to get a flu shot. In all seriousness though, clots can be a tricky, nasty thing to deal with. Just lost my oldest friend this past summer to a clot. He’d found out he had diabetes and they started him on blood thinners (for circulation); 2 weeks later he was dead of a blood clot which had detached and snagged itself in his heart, causing a massive attack.
