I like Boesch, but just too many outfielders in the Tigers’ system anyway. This might give him a chance to catch on with another team, and maybe they can work the kinks out of his swing. With young talent like Castellanos, Garcia, and Moya in the system, he was expendable. Too bad they couldn’t have traded him, though.

But but but…..lLoyd McClendon fixed his swing, high ceiling, epiphany, and all that…..or maybe they just realized that luck was the only difference between “good Boesch” and “bad Boesch” and luck isn’t something you should rely on when it comes to 28 yr old bad defenders (even in corner OF spts) that can’t get on base and only have modest power.

Thank Pencil that the Tigers finally got tired of this Dude. I read in the Detroit News that he refused to watch video and really wasn’t receptive to the coaches trying to get him straightened out. He showed a ton of promise that 1st half season, but when he slumped last year it just felt like he was on borrowed time. If he would have been stellar on defense you could live with the. 240 ,but he often looked like him and Demon Young were starting their own ‘we are lost on defense’ club.
I bet the f**king White Sox pick him up.

Like Shelton, the Tigers sold a lot of Boesch jerseys when he first made a splash. Boesch will be remembered for awhile.

They didn’t save $1.9M, they wasted $400k or so by tendering him.

First half 2011 he was pretty good. I always hoped he’d get back to that level. Oh well, I also remember a kid named Chris Shelton who was on fire for a month in 2006.
