That said, he wasn’t ready for the bigs. He has a good arsenal, though. A good fastball that can hit mid-90′s as a starter, flashes some plus potential on the breaking ball, and the Diamondbacks article makes it sound like his change-up was really good.

That said, he simply wasn’t ready for a big league jump. He’s still learning overall command, and commanding his secondary stuff. When you factor in that the Diamondbacks pen was loaded, there simply wasn’t a spot for him. With the Cubs needing all the quality arms they can get, they probably weren’t going to agree to a trade with D-backs.
