Franklin Morales was already considered unlikely to be ready for Opening Day because of a back injury and now he’s all but guaranteed to begin the season on the disabled list.

Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports that the Red Sox left-hander is “out indefinitely” after getting an injection for a bulging disk in his back.

Craig Breslow is also sidelined by a shoulder injury, so the Red Sox’s bullpen could minus two left-handers to start the season.

Tough luck for Morales and the Red Sox. On a more positive note for the Sox, Lester has pitched well this spring.

Can we just agree that every injury for the Red Sox can be considered “out indefinitely” since no one apparently knows what the hell they are doing over there?

Do they even have doctors on staff, or are they using with WebMD? Asking around? “That sounds like what my brother had. Turns out it was a bulging disc.” “That sounds right. Write up a press release.”
