David Brown of Yahoo! Sports has the gory details:

Taylor already has missed a week of A’s camp because he cut the pinkie finger on his right hand in two spots trying to throw away a wad of gum. One of the gashes has healed, the other has not, Taylor told reporter Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle on Sunday

Last week, it was Mark Rzepczynski getting hit in the eye by a ricocheting golf ball; this week, it’s Taylor and chewing gum.

Taylor, one of three prospects traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Toronto Blue Jays in the Roy Halladay trade, has only had 51 at-bats in the Majors but posted an .846 OPS in 120 games with Triple-A Sacramento last year — the 27-year-old’s third consecutive full season at that level.

Oldest story, holy crap!! Must be a slow day

Same kid that bill Conlin said would set the phillies back if we traded him, right ?

I just think it is terrible the way RAJ has depeleted the Phillies farm system of talent.

    Oh wait.

To be fair, probably at least ONE of those many guys traded away will pan out. What are the odds that all of Carrasco/D’Arnaud/Santana/Singleton/Taylor/Biddle/May/Gose/Villar will ALL fail at the MLB level? That would make RAJ Xanatos the supreme Con-Artist.

        you forgot Drabek

      • DelawarePhilliesFan - Mar 16, 2013 at 10:40 PM

Yea – you left off Drabek. And Lou Marson, Jason Donald, and J.A. Happ too.

And sure, someone he traded will be a star (of course, someone he traded for already has a Phillies red Cy Young under his belt) – but all these Phille’s trolls blindly parrot “RAJ traded prospects” – as if it is the 80’s again and we are talking about Ryne Sandberg and Julio Franco

      • Francisco (FC) - Mar 17, 2013 at 1:48 AM

Well I didn’t mean to make an exhaustive list but yes include that bunch as well. In any case, I also don’t expect a Ryne Sandberg or Julio Franco to emerge from that entire bunch. Maybe four or five will pan out and turn out to be good MLB players, but that’s the cost of doing business.

Better than a chewing tobacco cancer injury.

saw this kid hit for the cycle in Allentown, thought he’d end up being a really good major league player but it doesn’t look like that will ever happen. he had a lot of talent at one point..

Another example that all prospects are suspects until proven otherwise.

he is diabetic. so I’m guessing that’s why the injury is taking longer to heal
