I love how everyone freaks out about Pryor and wood. Two flame throwers threw their arms out and it’s shocking? We would of course all be crucifying him if he sat Pryor or wood during the cubs’ bartman year. Guys are ruining their arms every year in this game, it’s hardly dustys fault.

Now if you’re concerned that Corey Patterson or some other washed up, never was player would be leading off for team
USA, while a young stud withered away on the bench, then I’m right with you on that concern. No doubt mike trout and Bryce Harper would be watching while two past-their-prime former cubs reds or giants clogged up the outfield.

Baker is awful at managing arms, the Reds front office have him unders stricter control than the Cubs did hence the improvment.

Here come the uninformed, stereotypical “he ruins arms” comments. Prior and Wood themselves both said Baker had nothing to do with their injuries and in 2012 the Reds were the only team to have a starter not miss a start in the regular season. He is just fine at managing arms. As for his Postseason success, he brought two teams (Cubs and Giants) that had no business contending in 2002 and 2003 and almost tasted a title with both of them. They choked under the pressure and let him down, it wasn’t a result of poor managing.

Dusty sucks and if there was a WAR for managers he would be -2 or -4 yearly
