Well, the issue with Swisher was not just his contract demands, and his age and the Luxury tax…there was the need to pick up Granderson’s option…bet they wish they had that one back.

The other issue with Swisher was that he was 32 and wanted a 4-5 year deal for big money. I liked Swisher but I never thought bring him back for 4-5 years was smart at the money he’d command. I wish him well but I think the Yankees got all the good value from him and resigning him was going to prove a mistake.
