Ichiro, Hideki Matsui, Hideo Nomo, Hiroki Kuroda, Takashi Saito, Akinori Otsuka, Shigetoshi Hasegawa, Kazahiro Sasaki, and Koji Uehara have all had good careers the majors. Hong-Chih Kuo and Hideki Okajima had a few good years, too

In addition to those guys, Yu Darvish, Norichika Aoki and Hisashi Iwakuma are all doing pretty well presently, too.

There have been plenty of swings and misses with imports (Kei Igawa, Dice-K, Hideki Irabu, Ryota Igarashi, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Murenori Kawasaki, Tsuyoshi Shinjo, So Taguchi, Shingu Takatsu, Kosuke Fukudome, Kenji Johjima, Akinori Iwamura, Masa Kobayashi, Kenshin Kawakami, etc.), but let’s not throw all Japanese players under the bus.
