Bobby Valentine has a new television gig in New York

Mar 19, 2013, 1:50 PM EDT

Bobby Valentine is the athletic director at Sacred Heart University, but apparently that doesn’t preclude him from taking a new part-time television gig:

SNY is the network that broadcasts Mets game in New York. He’s also doing commercials and radio shows, so Valentine will be very busy the year after doing “a hell of a job in Boston.”

Have they poll tested Mets fans? I find it hard to believe Mets fans really want to hear from him. I could be wrong, although it would be unprecedented.

Unprecedented that Met fans weren’t polled or whether they want to hear from Valentine?

I hope he uses his time on air to call out Red Sox players by name and rake them across the coals. If we have to listen to this clown, at least make it interesting.

Wins by year, Boston Red Sox
      2008, 95
      2009, 95
      2010, 89
      2011, 90
      2012, 69

Yeah, he should really call out those players. They were terrible. /s

I didn’t say he had a right to do so- just that it would be more entertaining than the drivel he usually spews.

We all heard him on ESPN. He’s an idiot. He was then an abject failure as a manager.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald is a moron. There are a million second acts in American lives. You can fail again and again and again and someone will give you a microphone based on your vast experience as a proven failure.

Will he also work in the Amway store before games?

    • bigharold - Mar 19, 2013 at 6:15 PM

No he’ll be busy expending his wrap empire.

This dude needs to disappear. He’s not interesting. He’s not controversial. He’s just an asswipe.

Good. Sny is where he belongs.

My cable outfit provides SNY, but when something actually interesting is on, such as a game, the screen goes dark. Thank you very little.

      • thebadguyswon - Mar 19, 2013 at 7:02 PM

SNY has the games and nothing else. But their game coverage is good. The rest of their programming is garbage.

Yes, Randy, believe it or not, many Mets fans like BV. He did a fine job as Mets manager and turned the team around in the mid 90s.

Pompous, arrogant are the words that come to mind. Now the players. fans, and managers can threaten to punch him out. instead of the other way around.

At least his CBS fantasy sports commercial is pretty funny.
