Chien-Ming Wang in talks with multiple teams

Mar 20, 2013, 1:30 PM EDT

A few weeks ago it was reported that Chien-Ming Wang and the Yankees may have some interest in a reunion, but things went silent as the WBC got underway and Wang pitched for Chinese Taipei. There still is some interest there, but Wang is not focusing exclusively on the Yankees:

Wang posted a 6.68 ERA and 2.01 WHIP in 32 and a third injury-wracked innings last season for the Nationals. He was more useful the year before, though it has been some time since he’s demonstrated that he can be healthy, effective and durable. Still: pitching insurance is pitching insurance and there is little downside to signing Wang and keeping him in the “break glass in case one of your starters gets hurt” case next to the door.
