Yeah, not really liking how the season is starting.

Arod was replaceable. If healthy he puts up decent numbers but same can be said for Youk, his replacement.

Watching Granderson and Teix, however flawed they both are, go down hurt knowing that there was a decent chance Jeter wasn’t going to be ready at the start of the season to begin with (the only person who seemed to think otherwise was Jete lol).

That being said, the team has more than enough pitching to weather the storm.

The big “X” factor is Girardi.

If he can get back to some NL ways early on and manufacture runs, use the speed we have (Ichiro, Gardner, Mesa, Nunez, Nix etc.. can all freakin fly) then it won’t be nearly as bad as ESPN would love to have ya think.

As a Yankee and a Jeter fan, .. frankly I’d rather not hear anything about Jeter and Rose’s record. It’s not very likely that he’ll not only stick around another 5 seasons. .. until he’s in his mid 40s, .. but also have 5 very good, 190 or so hit seasons too.

Is it out of the question no. In fact if there is ANYBODY in MLB that might do it, .. I’d bet on Jeter. But, lets be realistic it’s also not likely.

Lets just sit back an enjoy the last two maybe three seasons of a HoF player. Even Yankee haters have to give him credit. He’s a once in a generation player.

NunE6z isn’t better than a corpse. At any position.

If you actually watched some games when he manned a position you’d know this.

Even with his limited range I’d take Jeter simply because he’s sure-handed. NunE6z gives away so many free runs it’s friggin’ amazing.

Just move him to 1B already, at least while Tex is out (and then move Tex to full-time DH; with improved steroid and amphetamine testing Hafner is done).

Nunez is a waay better SS at this point…Jeter’s already minuscule range is soon gonna be zero.

What other options are there for him at this point in terms of fielding?

I doubt he’d switch positions at this stage in his career (outfield?), and he doesn’t fit the typical DH profile (high singles, low power numbers).

As a Red Sox fan, I hope he rebounds. Baseball is better with Derek Jeter.

Can’t be good when you get cortisone is spring training. Hope I am wrong.
Watching Jeter excel is not only great or Yankee fans but good for baseball in general. With two more solid seasons people will start more Jeter breaking Roses record talk. I don’t think he’ll ever get that close but it sure would be fun.
