That’s how I thought of the name. I basically grew up at Candlestick watching those horrible teams in the 70s/80s and I have a bunch of earned Croix de Candelsticks.

I think any concerns about a 10 year deal are spot on.

But I’d sign him to it anyways.

He’ll be a first class face of the franchise, which in marketing and tickets and fan-base and all those other off the field benefits is a great thing.

He can play first base- guaranteed- and if Belt never finds more power there’s not really anybody blocking him there.

I’d rather sign him to 10 now then winging up signing him to a 7 year deal at like 31-32 like free agency seems to dictate.

And in what has really only been two years in the league- 2 rings, Rookie of the Year, MVP.

Modern player contracts pay for what a player has previously done anyways- pay the man.

2 Things. 1, Hook Posey up. We know he play 1st pretty well, and he’s the heart and soul of that line-up.

2. That is a great screen name! I grew up with night games at The Stick! I hope they play one more game there (even a bay bridge preseason game) before it gets bulldozed.

I do like the idea of having Buster around for a long time. I would guess that we’ll see something like a seven year deal.
