They already have to coordinate some, Oakland seems to do ok sharing a stadium. Bud finally has something roger needs, he should take advantage of it.

Let’s see the ratings for each event afterwards. Then try to tell me bud won anything. The nfl is king right now. As a fan of both its a lot easier for me to miss 1 of 162 than 1 of 16.

- In 1970, there was ONE player in ALL of football that weighed 300 pounds. Today’s average weight of a OL = 311 pounds (its steroids, and there will be hell to pay someday)
- Barry Bonds is MLB public enemy #1 because he is an asshole and he took steroids to set an all time record. Ray Lweis is a hero despite….well, its all public record (the pendulum is going to sway against felon NFL players)
- MLB Teams are taking flack because pitchers rarely go complete games. The NFL players get concussions playing in 25 point blowouts with 2 minutes remaining (10 billion dollar class action suit?)

Football has at leats 50 years to go until they can match what baseball has done. Good luck.

Won what? I suspect that if the Ravens open that Thursday night that attendance and ratings wil be way down for the Orioles. How is that a win? But a change just may not have been viable for the city or the White Sox. Again not really a win. I just don’t see it as a win or a loss

For the record. I hat Thursday night NFL. Overkill. But I don’t think it hurts the NFL to have the Ravens start on the road or on Sunday.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the only trip that the ChiSox make to Baltimore, so if they rescheduled the game they’d have to find a time when both teams had a free date, later in the season, where both teams would be inconvenienced. Never mind that the baseball game was scheduled first.

Now, explain what hardship the NFL is facing? There are 7 days in the week and the NFL could showcase this game in any other 6 of them. They opened the season on Wednesday last year, so where’s the problem? They opened the season during the first night of Rosh Hashanah last year, when there wasn’t a problem. What’s stopping the NFL from opening on Fri or Saturday night?

The O’s have a bit of an image problem in Baltimore thanks to their ownership, and making a switch here would’ve been a nice step towards fixing that. Hopefully the Os will be relevant again this year, but odds are they won’t be. With the Ravens on tv that night, the Os will be lucky to draw 5,000. I did a quick look of weekday September games at OPACY againjst non-rivals in Sept of 2011 and they were averaging between 10-15K. In terms of NFL vs MLB, this was a big MLB win. In terms of the Baltimore sports fan, though, this feels like everybody loses. That day was going to be a huge party.
