Mat Latos takes liner to right shin

It makes you cringe just reading about it. Mark Sheldon tweeted about the Reds right-hander’s ouster from today’s Cactus League game against the Texas Rangers:

In his first season with the Reds last year, Latos posted a 3.48 ERA in 209.1 innings. Now 25 years old, he has cemented his place behind Johnny Cueto at the top of the Red rotation.

    Ouch. This could be serious. For example, a few years ago, Halladay was having his best year with the Jays when he suffered a broken leg from a line drive off his shin.
