Zack Greinke says inflamed elbow feels healthy

Dodgers' pitcher Zack Greinke throws during MLB Cactus League spring training in Glendale

Zack Greinke struggled yesterday in his first game action against big-league hitters since March 1, but more importantly the Dodgers right-hander said afterward that his elbow feels fine.

Greinke, who got a platelet-rich plasma injection in his inflamed elbow on March 11, allowed five runs in three innings against the Royals. He’d previously thrown against White Sox minor leaguers in a game last week, also without any issues.

Assuming he avoids a setback Friday during his final scheduled spring training start Greinke should be cleared to begin the season in the Dodgers’ rotation.

He walked Hosmer-Cain-….and Jeff Francoeur back-to-back-to-back. Let me repeat that. He walked Jeff Francoeur.

That’s because Frenchy’s turned the corner and is finally ready to live up to his potential.
