Hideki Matsui is getting put on a stamp

Mar 27, 2013, 3:00 PM EDT

If they put living ballplayers on stamps in the U.S. and people traded them and stuff maybe the postal service wouldn’t be billions in the red.

Wait: the baseball card injury had that model and it cratered too.  Never mind:

I’m assuming now that this sets the record for the largest porn collection owned by the subject of a postage stamp. Previously held by John Phillip Sousa.

If Congress didn’t require the USPS to pre-fund pensions 75 years out in 10 years they wouldn’t be billions of dollars in the red.

Sorry, as the son of a postal worker whose job might get cut before he can retire with his full health benefits as a result of this foolishness, this issue hits really close to home.

You’ll be down voted, but you’re right to call out anyone that recycles the lazy “the post office is so inefficient” canard with out talking about that ridiculous pension-funding albatross that’s been hung around the neck of the USPS. That move was an obvious power play by privateers to sink the Postal System.

Sorry to hear about you father. I hope he makes it to retirement.

It would be pretty neat to have a stamp of yourself. I dont remember the last time I mailed a letter though. If I had a time machine, I could go back and show people how big of a deal I was because I had a stamp of myself. But invariably, they’d be like “Its 30-some cents to mail a letter?!” And then I would show them my smartphone and I’d be a God. But I’d probably leave soon, because I’m not sure if I DVR’d The Walking Dead or not.

    Anyway, good for him.

As postage stamps haven’t been under 40 cents since early 2007, I think you just outed yourself as a time traveler. When you get back to the late ’90s or the early aughts, can you please tell the Yankees to not acquire Kei Igawa? Thanks.

A time travler or a person who really never mails anything. Anyway if I am changing around anything, The Brewers are gonna be awesome. All the time.

    What baseball card injury?

What is this ‘stamp’ thing you speak of?

They should put Diasuke Matsuzaka on a stamp. Wait, I said that backwards. They should put a stamp on Diasuke Matsuazaka, and mail him back to Japan.
