Bud Black will be moving Jedd Gyorko around a lot

Don’t get too comfortable, kid. On Twitter, Corey Brock says manager Bud Black will be using the rookie at both second and third base depending on the handedness of the opposing pitcher: at second base with a lefty on the hill, and at third base against a right-hander.

Cody Ransom will start at third base when Gyorko is at second, and Alexi Amarista will start at second base when Gyorko is at third.

With injuries to Logan Forsythe and Chase Headley, the 24-year-old Gyorko is looking at a significant amount of playing time. Over the last two seasons in the Minors, Gyorko has slugged 55 home runs and driven in 214 runs with an OPS well above .900.

More times then not when this happens to a rookie, either they don’t think he is as good as he is “supposed” to be or/and they never really develop

I like this kid, so far he has taken on any challenge presented to him and is ready to make his MLB debut. Keep an eye on him for the rookie of the year race.
