Elvis Andrus officially signed his contract today and had a little press conference and everything. But as LewPBlog (and many others) noted, Nolan Ryan was AWOL.

Figure it’s worth just tendering your resignation yet, Nolan? You’re upsetting the kids.

Getting ready to give Kim Il Sung the noogie of his life.

At least Boras made an appearance; everyone was acting like he was on suicide watch since Cano dumped him.

It’s all speculation about who threw the first punch and who’s really being the dick here, but personally, I have always liked Nolan and I’m not going to be happy if its shown that they’ve neglected to show him his due respect

Nolan is a complete bad ass and a Texas legend. He has been a huge part of the Rangers comeback story. He also is largely responsible for creating the plan that has made pitchers become successful in Texas. I really hope the Rangers don’t blow this and lose him. It will be like the Cowboys getting rid of Tom Landry.

Whoah…I KNOW you didn’t just compare the shameless kicking-to-the-curb of one of the greatest coaches and defensive minds of all time to Nolan Ryan getting pissy and leaving.

I am talking about the removing of an icon from the team. He’s the greatest pitcher the Rangers ever had and who know’s where if he hadn’t been part of the ownership group that took the Rangers out of bankruptcy. Without Nolan Ryan the Rangers wouldn’t have made it to the World Series two years in a row.

BTW- when they take your job and give it to someone else then they are kicking you to the curb.

Easy paycheck to do nothing. Andrus should have been trade bait. Overpay.

Everyone that thinks Boras clients always take the most money, don’t sign extensions, and all that because that is what Boras wants and his clients don’t have a say….take note…another Boras client signing an extension to stay with his team.

You know we will have to remind people of this again later…and again…and again.

I love how this photo of Nolan is from when they played the Giants in the WS and got their asses handed to them…LOL
