The Durham Bulls must be planning on having Wil Myers around for a while

Apr 10, 2013, 12:31 PM EST

Because they’re setting up a special section for him at the ballpark — called “Wilville” — complete with t-shirts and stuff:

Maybe they’re just trying to milk him while they got him. Because if the Rays keep doing things like scratching out only four hits against guys making their MLB debut like they did last night, they’re gonna need Myers in Tampa Bay soon.

    “Complete with t-shits and stuff”…What’s a t-shit? Sounds nasty.

    Durham…is a special place.

(Actually, it’s kind of awesome. But I couldn’t let the straight line go.)

Best typo I’ve seen on here.

      Even better than Dog Fister?

      • indaburg - Apr 10, 2013 at 1:51 PM

No, Dog Fister was the best typo of all time on HBT. That typo made news on other sites, it was so good.

Well, poop. I hope they’re not planning on keeping him for awhile. The Rays are suffering from an acute case of norunsupportitis. The only cure is Wil Myers.

Time for the big book of boo-boos!

    • paperlions - Apr 10, 2013 at 2:07 PM

There is no way he’s coming up before the super-2 deadline. That is what, June 1st?

      • indaburg - Apr 10, 2013 at 2:40 PM

A girl can dream. The Rays blog I follow doesn’t project him to come up until July:

Well….dream of having him for an extra 4 months on the cheap thanks to them manipulating his service time.

I do understand from a business perspective. From a fan’s perspective though, it’s frustrating to watch the Rays fail to hit with men on base. The season is still young, but I can already several instances of the Rays having the bases loaded and coming up empty. Utterly punchless.

He is striking out in 1/3 of his plate appearances. That ain’t good.

    Is that like Billville?

    Hmm, maybe not.

    Hit the bull.

I don’t mind seeing him stick around Durham a while longer.

But I’m a selfish bastard that way.
