The Miami Marlins will be opening up their series against the Philadelphia Phillies without their best — and arguably only — slugger as Giancarlo Stanton will be sitting out due to a sore right shoulder, according to Joe Frisaro.

Stanton has had a slow start to the season, as he is hitting just .167 with two extra-base hits, both doubles.

Placido Polanco will bat third and Greg Dobbs will hit cleanup. If it were possible for a team to score negative runs in a game, this is one way.

And of course the Feesh scored one run in tonight’s latest defeat – not quite negative, but close if you’re really into mathematics and the numeral still exerts its ancient Mesopotamian fascination over you. I’ll have a full report on the lowlights of tonight’s game on tomorrow’s STS.
