With just 27 innings of professional baseball under his belt, Angels prospect Michael Roth has earned a promotion to the Majors.

The University of South Carolina product logged 22 innings in rookie ball last year, posting a 4.91 ERA. He skipped Single-A right to Double-A Arkansas to start this season, and now he’s on his way to Los Angeles to join the Angels bullpen.

Prospect guru Keith Law was shocked to hear of Roth’s promotion, calling him a “pure deception guy” with below-average stuff.

The Angels are so kind and generous. They are being Angelic in order to make Houston look good.

    Reeks of desperation.

Roth had one heck of a debut. 2 innings, 4 K’s, and got the win. His stuff looked great. Someone must be eating his words…l

Congrats to the kid for a memorable debut, but it’s only 2 innings.

Shows how desperate the Angels are to win NOW. I doubt this helps them though

The guy knows how to pitch. Think vintage Jamie Moyer, but only 23.

In college circles he is known as the “Greatest Post-season Pitcher in NCAA History”.

And that is worth something. I think.
