The D-Backs made a pair of roster moves today, activating Cody Ross and placing Jason Kubel on the disabled list. Ross had been dealing with a strained left calf that kept him out of most of spring training, but he is ready now after completing a rehab stint.

Kubel landed on the disabled list with a strained left quadriceps, which was aggravated in the series finale with the Brewers on April 7. The outfielder was hitting .333 with two home runs in eight games. He could return in the minimum 15 days, before the calendar turns to May.

I saw Cody Ross activated. I saw it. The horses became more and more nervous as the storm approached. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck the weathervane atop the stadium. There were a few arcs of electricity, the fluids in the IV bags bubbled involuntarily, and the bolts in his neck began to glow. His body twitched three or four times on the slab. The fingers on his right hand began to quiver. Then, I swear, his eyes opened and he turned his head slowly, blinking, to look at me. He made a horrible noise, like he had grit in his throat. At that point, I turned and ran. I don’t know what happened next.

Please stop encouraging Craig’s ‘grit’ rant. No matter how creative you are Mr. Old Gator, Craig doesn’t show the same desire to be interesting. Please spare your fellow baseball fans any more punishment by Craig’s attempts to be entertaining. Thank you…
