Fan-freaking-tastic: all of Yu Darvish’s pitches at once

Apr 25, 2013, 2:00 PM EDT

I saw this at Reddit via a tip from my friend Ethan. I know it’s bopping around Twitter now. Whoever created it, however, deserves the Nobel Prize for Cool Internet Things (UPDATE: It was Drew Sheppard.  All of Yu Darvish‘s pitches at once:

It’s … beautiful.

Maybe the best thing about it: all five pitches have basically the exact same release point.

    Unlike Matsuzaka, no gyro ball.

    • historiophiliac - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:13 PM

      and no HBPiD…

      • proudlycanadian - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:20 PM

        That too!

By the way, did you notice that ex Tiger pitcher Below has been claimed by the Marlins?

      • historiophiliac - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:39 PM

        Poor OG.

    • christos99 - Apr 26, 2013 at 12:56 AM

      real gyros are truly delicous

      • christos99 - Apr 26, 2013 at 1:00 AM

Wow – I knew Albert wasn’t the hitter he once was, but you’d think he could have made contact with at least 1 of those.

    • miketreedy - Apr 25, 2013 at 4:23 PM

For a second I thought that was Josh Hamilton batting.

  3. nolanwiffle - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:13 PM

Whoever did this needs to do it again with Jim Palmer and Nolan Ryan. That’d be something to see.

  4. warpd - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:17 PM

They could do it with Valverde, but all 5 pitches would be fastballs straight down the middle

    • youknowwhatsgoodforshoulderpain - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:44 PM

      LOL

  5. number42is1 - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:32 PM

this would make those Granderson at bats so much quicker.. he could just strike out on the first pitch(es) and be done with it.

  6. papacrick - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:37 PM

Below was a local guy born and raised in Britton, Mi. I’m sure his family is still Tiger fans

  7. papacrick - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:38 PM

Haha whoops wrong article.. Can someone please make one of these with a knuckleballer

  8. hisgirlgotburrelled - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:44 PM

The one that’s the third from the left at the end is filthy. It looks like it’s hanging and then just falls off the table.

    • hisgirlgotburrelled - Apr 25, 2013 at 2:49 PM

Seems like that’s his big strikeout pitch… Also from Drew Sheppard I saw on his twitter page:

One of my favorite parts of last night’s game was when Pierzynski stopped using signs and just motioned for Darvish to throw whatever he wanted… didn’t matter, they weren’t going to hit it.

    • brent4033 - Apr 25, 2013 at 3:23 PM

He did that because Yu told him during the mound visit what he wanted to throw so Pierzynski didnt want to bother droppin the sign

As much as I cant stand some of your liberal BS I am so happy to finally see someone comment on the release point. I have been talking to people about that all flippin day. Finally someone that talks about baseball sorta knows about baseball.

My favorite pitch of last night was the 61MPH strikeout pitch to Trout, where Trout just stood there and watched it.

    • youknowwhatsgoodforshoulderpain - Apr 25, 2013 at 3:55 PM

      Strikeout GIF
