Zack Greinke to begin throwing next week? Wow.

That’s what Will Carroll is reporting:

On the one hand, it was his non-pitching shoulder which was broken. On the other hand, damn.

No official word from the Dodgers on this, but it sure seems like a quick partial recovery.

Justin Verlander sent him a fathead of Carlos Quentin with a bullseye on the jock region. It’s mounted to a piece of plywood. Greinke immediately felt like throwing and set up a time.

” It seems like a pretty swift recovery, as Greinke underwent surgery to repair his fractured left collarbone just 12 days ago. Carroll says the righty is not ahead of schedule, though, and was always expected to resume throwing at that time. The right-hander isn’t expected back until mid-June.”
