The top ten parks for craft beer

Apr 30, 2013, 12:30 PM EDT

generic beer

Beer snobs, start your bickering. Anti-slideshow people, start your complaining too.  But I figure this is all relevant to most of your interests, so I link The Daily Meal’s top ten ballparks for craft beer slideshow.

I can’t speak for most of these places personally, but I can for Comerica Park. I spent Saturday camped out at their newly-expanded craft beer stand, and the selection of beers from places like Bell’s, Atwater, Founders and other Michigan craft breweries was impressive. I was even lucky enough to get one of only 36 bottles of Founder’s Kentucky Bourbon Stout they released at 2PM that afternoon. Tigers were rallying at that time, so I didn’t mind missing some of the game.

They do great beer in the Midwest. And the west coast too. And, hey, now that I think about it, on the east coast and even down south too. It’s almost like there’s no reason to ever not get awesome beer someplace. Even at the ballpark.

If you can afford the Diamond Club, find your own beer”

“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” …. a wise man once said.

Man made beer… God made pot…. Who do you trust?

Sure made 19 innings of A’s baseball fun last night.

Had the chance to get comp’d tickets to Safeco from a beer rep when visiting a friend that manages a couple bars in Seattle and was thoroughly surprised by the selection. That was probably the best ballpark experience I’ve ever had.

They don’t provide good baseball (except on Felix! night…), so they figure that the least they can do is provide good beer.

      • skeleteeth - Apr 30, 2013 at 4:23 PM

Yeah Lackey pitched a shutout for LAA that night.

My two favorite beers are from back east, and of course I can’t get either here — probably something about refrigeration… Anyway, I’m gonna have to con someone into sending a care package one of these days.

    • 4d3fect - Apr 30, 2013 at 3:19 PM

      Postage on refrigerators sucks.

When will we have the top 10 herbs sold at two parks?
We all know beer is more dangerous than cannabis.
(one toxic, one is natural, one addictive, one is not)

    Talking logic.

      Dude, we really doing this?

  9. hojo20 - Apr 30, 2013 at 1:27 PM

Did you have to call 911 after drinking that garbage?

I got kind of thirsty reading that article.

Heineken for me today. Saluting the coronation of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.

I don’t drink, but it’s on my mind that this is a repeat post? Haven’t we covered this topic before?

“It’s almost like there’s no reason to ever not get awesome beer someplace. Even at the ballpark.”

Um, I there is a pretty solid reason to not get an awesome beer at the ball game, and that would be the price. $7 for a single beer is a little steep for this guy.

    • ch0psuey - Apr 30, 2013 at 3:39 PM

      Amen to that.

Kona Longboard at the Mausoleum. That’s refreshment!

Heyblueyoustink, it was Ben Franklin. A very wise man indeed.

I can’t wait to get drunk today.

Playing softball tonight, so I probably will be right there with you.

Mmm, beer. Time to live the High Life at Miller Park…Go Brew Crew!

We can now add “better craft beer” to “better broadcasters” on the short list of places where the Mets clobber the Yankees. If the team is going to stink, at least the fans at home have Gary, Ron and Keith and the fans in the park have something more than Bud.

Didn’t know you were a beer geek, Craig. If you are ever in Philly, hit me up, I’ll show to all the cool places!
