Julio Borbon has a hit by pitch he’d like to sell you

May 2, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT

And the award for worst actor of the 2013 baseball season goes to Cubs outfielder Julio Borbon …

The ump didn’t buy it and Borbon eventually grounded out.

(Complicated handshake to our own Bill Baer for the GIF magic.)

The two second delay of him hopping around kind of gives it away. This is just as funny as the double flop in the OKC Thunder game.

Wow…that was bad Ty. Real bad. What movie was that from?

      • tycobbfromfangraphs - May 3, 2013 at 1:37 PM

A Turkish movie called Kareteci Kız circa 1973

    • derklempner - May 4, 2013 at 3:09 PM

Damn you. I’d like those 68 seconds of my life back.

  3. Stiller43 - May 2, 2013 at 5:42 PM

Haha the delay makes it histerical. He ought to be embarassed for that attempt.

    • flamethrower101 - May 2, 2013 at 6:26 PM

He ought to be benched for that.

    Did someone say “bourbon?”

Speaking of which, do you get the Kentucky Derby/Woodford Reserve ad on this site? There are far too many ice cubes in the pictured mint julep.

      • rbj1 - May 2, 2013 at 7:24 PM

Haven’t seen that ad. Generally I don’t do sweet drinks, they give me worse hangovers.

      • hasbeen5 - May 3, 2013 at 8:41 AM

Woodford doesn’t really need anything added to it. But I just saw an ad that says Stella Artois is the official sponsor of the Derby this year. There’s something really wrong with that.

Ump should show him a yellow card for diving.

    This .gif is way better

Ummm…that was a HBP. Watch the trajectory after it hits the ground…it goes off his foot/ankle than in towards home.

    • esracerx46 - May 2, 2013 at 11:51 PM

Drunk Cubs fan? Ball hit between his feet and over his left ankle. As someone else said, the 2 second delay kind of gives it away.

I was listening to the radio on the way to work and the guys on the radio said it hit him. And these were SAN DIEGO guys! Not only is the team not very good, but neither are the radio announcers!
