Orioles Rays Baseball

AL Player of the Month for April, Chris Davis, left last night’s O’s-Angels game in the fifth inning with a knee injury. The injury happened as he ran out a ground ball, with Davis hobbling as he crossed first base. His comments after the game:

“[I] hit the bag funny, obviously,” Davis said. “My knee kind of buckled, felt a tingling in my foot, thought I could walk it off, went down the stairs, tried to go down the stairs, couldn’t go down the stairs. … Everything was intact. We will see how it is tomorrow. Hopefully I will feel better than I did tomorrow. Hopefully it will just be a couple days.”

Davis will have an MRI today. In his place at first should be some combination of Ryan Flaherty, Steve Pearce and Nick Markakis.

Shame to have this happen in the middle of the tear he’s been on.

No, no, no. I need someone to absolutely fear and despise this season. Get better soon, you destroyer of dreams.

In what universe are you living in that markakis is playing first base?

The one where Flaherty and Pearce are the alternatives?

      He’s done it before.

Since no one that works here bothered to provide an update…

Early reports show tendonitis in the Knee. Oriole medical personnel will look at the MRI on Monday. He should be able to play Tuesday.
