    When was the last time you heard someone say, “Mannn, the umps called a really good game today.” NEVER.

    The only time anyone actually acknowledges the umpires are when they make mistakes. An ump can consistently make good calls 99% of the time, but the only calls anyone actually remembers are the ones he got wrong.

    My point: By in large, umpires do an unbelievably great job officiating professional baseball games, and their jobs are exponentially harder than we give them credit for.
