Rockies right fielder Michael Cuddyer has not appeared in a game since Wednesday because of discomfort in his neck. And now it will be at least another 10 days before we see him again.

Cuddyer was placed on the 15-day disabled list with what is officially being called an inflamed cervical disc. The move was made retroactive to May 9, so Cuddyer will be eligible for activation late next week.

Charlie Blackmon was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs to provide needed outfield depth.

Cuddyer, 34, was hitting .319/.383/.580 with seven home runs and 23 RBI through 31 games played.

Look at what the Rockies would have miss permantely had the idiots traded him as they were going to. As you have seen since he went out with an injury the Rockies haven’t done shit. I still have an extruded disc in the left side of my neck from a car accident in Nov. 2007. As I did not have the money as Michael does to have it repaired, and the kids ins. was for only $50,000 and it took from 15 Nov.,2007 until 15 July,2010 to settle it and the lawyers bills and the med bills that I did have came to a whole hell of a lot more than my part of the settlement then I have the pain every day plus the loss of being able to have a life prior to the wreck, it was strickly the other drivers fault. I actually had hoped that the Rockies would have traded him to a contender here in the east, to an AL team that has a good chance of going to the World Series, the Rockies are not a World Series class team, and here at the twilight of his playing days career he would have the opportunity to play in the WS. With him being a Rockie I do not get to see him play like I did while he was a Twin. I knew his father Henry back in the early 70s when we worked together for the A&P stores in Norfolk and Va. Beach,Va. His father was and still is a good friend of my brother, a Larry S. Barry of Va. Beach,Va., and I am sure Michael remembers my brother and his family. Good luck to Michael and hope to see him back on the ballfield soon. Lee Barry, Bristol,Va., not so much a Rockies fan as a Michael Cuddyer fan!!!
