HBT Daily: Are they rushing Zack Greinke back?

The Dodgers have lost nine of eleven. If they were doing better, would Zack Greinke be coming back three weeks ahead of schedule?

Like Craig said, anyone who’s broken their collarbone knows how wildly painful it is. I doubt he had broken it as the Dodgers claim he did. If he did there would be no chance of him resuming baseball activities this quickly, let alone starting.

If the Dodgers were in a better spot in the division they most likely would give him more time to rest. Bringing up Greinke up now (based on the medical time table that was reported) risks of further injuring him based on the theory that pitchers (or any other player for that matter) are sometimes not always truthful when talking about injuries because of their competitive nature.

Yes, they are bringing him up way too early, but the dodgers are really bad this season, and they need everyone on board to try to prove that they are something other than the national league over spenders of the year.

We have seen this behavior time and time again, players lie and say they are fine, doctors say they are well enough to start working a little, coaches are eager to get them back, and owners want their money’s worth out of these so called “phenoms”.

This kid will be starting his long road of future DL stints if he is put out there 3 weeks early.
