Zack Wheeler checks out OK

Mets prospect Zack Wheeler who, along with Matt Harvey may be the only reasons to watch the Mets as the year goes on, was in New York to be checked out for some shoulder soreness today. Good news:

“All good,” Wheeler’s agent Al Goetz said via text message. “No structural damage.”

He’ll miss a start, likely as much due to having to travel from Las Vegas to New York to see the big club’s doctors than anything else, but looks OK.

After a rough start to his Triple-A season Wheeler has ripped off three straight good starts. If the patten continues he’ll be in Queens before too long, one has to guess.

Are you scumbags in SF still bitter that Alderson got him?

If it’s the Mets’ crack medical staff that said he’s OK and I were Wheeler, I’d get it checked out by a competent, objective doctor. If they had said he’s not OK, I’d say the same thing.

You have to consider the source.

Wheeler looks like someone but I can’t figure out who…

He looks a tad like Strasburg doesn’t he?

Easy. Dead ringer for Kris Versteeg.

What, David Wright is no longer a reason to watch the Mets?

One good field player doesn’t make the Mets worth watching dude. Especially when anyone but Harvey is pitching
