Andy Pettitte’s next start is still up in the air

May 17, 2013, 4:40 PM EDT

This doesn’t narrow it down too much. Maybe it eliminates the idea of “skip a start and wait and see,” but it’s still unclear if Pettitte will take his next turn:

If you missed it, he left last night’s start with a tight left trapezius muscle.

Obviously you don’t want to see him on the DL, but I feel like not DLing one of the Yankees older stars would be messing with the continuity and chemistry they’ve so expertly cultivated this year.

Vidal Nuno pitched well, and Chien-Ming Wang is at AAA (though there’d have to be a roster move as he’s not on the 40 man.)

Good call on Nuno who has been recalled to replace Pettitte.

It’s now 5:00. We need another breathless update on each injured or “injured” Yankee.

        And yet…

        First place, bitches!

That is a baker’s dozen or more than 50% of a normal roster. Very impressive.
