From Erik Boland of Newsday comes word that Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez has suffered a setback with his rib cage injury and will be on the disabled list for much longer than initially expected.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi told Boland that Nunez tried to “amp it up” during a round of batting practice on Saturday and “felt a little something” after the workout. He will be shut down for a couple of days before trying to resume his rehabilitation plan.

Nunez has been on the disabled list since May 6. He was eligible to return last Tuesday but wasn’t even swinging a bat at that point.

The Yankees will continue to rely on Jayson Nix and Reid Brignac at shortstop.

But of course he suffered a setback…these are the new Yankees, they get injuries every other day. I think someone put a doozie of a hex on them…at least it seems that way with all these freakish injuries.

“doozie of a hex on them…”

It’s not working, they’re in first place. If anything that hex is making the entire Yankee organization, especially Cashman look pretty good.

Hex?? Bring it on, .. these are the 2013 NY Yankees!!!

Who cares- Jayson Nix is a better option there anyway.

Take your time Nunez, they( Yankees) don’t need the errors.

What errors are you referring to?
