Ian Kennedy scratched from Monday start after slicing right index finger while doing dishes

May 26, 2013, 2:42 PM EDT

Cleaning dishes is the worst. The absolute worst. Case in point …

Kennedy has been scratched from his scheduled start in the first half of Monday’s day-night doubleheader against the Rangers. Tyler Skaggs will be called up from Triple-A Reno to fill in for him.

Kennedy is hoping to take his next turn Friday afternoon versus the Cubs. The 28-year-old right-hander has registered a 4.70 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 10 starts this season, striking out 50 batters in 61 1/3 innings.

Sounds like Ian Kennedy lacks grit. A real Diamondback would be able to play through a cut on the finger if they are gritty enough. Thus he should be traded immediately!

You’re making 4.3 million and you don’t buy a dishwasher? Can someone buy Ian a dishwasher please!

    I know that feeling.

I was hand-washing some plates, and the ceramic plate just split right in half on me. Took a chunk out of my thumb. I needed three stitches and my hand was pretty much worthless for a week.

    Does anyone believe this?

I believe everything all the managers say. They wouldn’t lie to the general public, would they?
