Play of the Day: Bees invade Kauffman Field

May 26, 2013, 10:55 PM EDT

In celebration of Arrested Development, bees invaded Kauffman Field this afternoon prior to today’s series finale in Kansas City. The Angels won 5-2 behind a solid outing from starter Jerome Williams. In sweeping the four-game set against the Royals, the surging Angels won their eighth consecutive game, regardless of the flying monsters at the ballpark.

They don’t allow you to have bees in here.

    Bees are evil!

    • Old Gator - May 27, 2013 at 7:46 AM

Children are horrible. Without bees, you’d have no fruit or vegetables. What good are children?

      • redbirdfan81 - May 27, 2013 at 9:39 AM

what an idiotic comparison! Neither are horrible & both are necessary!

      • Old Gator - May 27, 2013 at 1:54 PM

Why – you afraid the diaper market would collapse along with the hives?

  2. alexo0 - May 26, 2013 at 11:10 PM

Well at least something is swarming to see the Royals play.

    • deepstblu - May 27, 2013 at 10:21 AM

They’ve got a real buzz going now.

You’ve got to bee kidding me!

    • brewcrewfan54 - May 27, 2013 at 1:46 AM

Terrible and funny at the same time. Well done sir.

  4. brewcrewfan54 - May 27, 2013 at 1:48 AM

Homer: Or what? You’ll release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you? Well, go ahead—do your worst!

Didn’t the Angels have a game delayed by bees earlier this season too?

  6. joeflaccosunibrow - May 27, 2013 at 5:03 AM

The Royals are resorting to bees to help give them any advantage for the hopes of a win. If those bees can close a game, my Orioles can use them.

Mail that wet/dry vac to Baltimore please! Overnight it. I will pay the extra shipping costs.

  7. redbirdfan81 - May 27, 2013 at 9:43 AM

This is a Royal story, so is it relevant enough to bee here?

  8. natew333 - May 27, 2013 at 10:03 AM

The Angels AAA team is the Bees so these were just more injury replacements looking to get into the game…

  9. rmcd13 - May 27, 2013 at 10:33 AM

    I don’t want these.

Sure, living in today’s complex world of the future is a little like having bees live in your head.

  11. Old Gator - May 27, 2013 at 1:55 PM

“Today’s complex world of the future” sounds like the kind of thing Ed Wood Jr. would have written.

    Mary had bunch of bees
And in order to save their lives,
    They followed Mary everywhere
    Because Mary had the hives.
