Brandon Morrow leaves start after two innings with forearm soreness

May 28, 2013, 1:31 PM EDT

UPDATE: A little ominous, despite the claim of Morrow making his next start:

1:31 PM: Watching the Braves-Blue Jays game. In addition to it being a comedy of defensive ineptitude through the first couple of innings, something else of note happened: Brandon Morrow was pulled after two innings of work. Two innings in which the Braves hit him hard in 47 pitches and in which his velocity seemed a bit off.

Maybe John Gibbons just didn’t like what he saw. Maybe something is wrong with him.  If we hear any updates we’ll let you know.

We have not heard yet. The Jay’s broadcast team thinks that he is sick.

    • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:58 PM

Some discomfort in his forearm according to Gibbons. They decided to be cautious

  2. proudlyfrenchcanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:36 PM

The entire staff is pitching like their all hurt.

    • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:39 PM

Typical Bostonian grammatical error. Try “they are” instead of “their”.

      • proudlyfrenchcanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:44 PM

Good call on the grammar, it’s a Monday errr Tuesday.

Poor call on Boston, have nothing to do with the city.

      • 1943mrmojorisin1971 - May 28, 2013 at 1:51 PM

Apparently Proudly has reached the point where ‘Boston’ is now a euphemism for all things wrong in his world.

      • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:53 PM

Nah. That clown is a Boston fan and has tried this guff before. He came very close to getting banned before.

      • proudlyfrenchcanadian - May 28, 2013 at 1:57 PM

I am from Pittsburgh and live in North Carolina. Unless Boston stretches down into Durham, I have nothing to do with the city or the sports teams. The AAA team here is tied to the AL East, but with Tampa. As a matter of fact, we destroyed some schmuck Romero yesterday, it was great fun to see.

I’ve done nothing of the sort to come close to being banned.

Thanks for trying, A+ for effort.

      • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 2:01 PM

B.S. about almost being banned. I saw one post in which you wished an injury to a player. Craig forced an apology for you in which you said that you were an idiot and if you ever did that again you would be banned.

We’re so dumb here in Boston, but please, take it easy on us – all we have is MIT and Harvard. We barely get by with our grammar.

      • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 2:13 PM

        OK

      • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 2:18 PM

My apologies to Bostonians if that clown is actually from Pittsburgh. It is rather obvious from his false screen name that anything he writes is unreliable.

      • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - May 28, 2013 at 4:02 PM

We’re so dumb here in Boston, but please, take it easy on us – all we have is MIT and Harvard. We barely get by with our grammar.

Technically neither are in Boston. However, plenty of other good universities are there.

      • proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 4:18 PM

        Where are BU and BC?

    • cur68 - May 28, 2013 at 1:54 PM

Easy boys. Lets try and keep the Calcaterra Pax, eh? All is right in the world: Bautista just homered. The Beavz in the lead, 5-4.

      • ltzep75 - May 28, 2013 at 2:10 PM

        shouldn’t it be “Pax Calcaterra”?

      • cur68 - May 28, 2013 at 2:21 PM

Yep. Noticed right after I sent it that I’d got it backwards. Wouldn’t mind an emendo muneris.

      • ltzep75 - May 28, 2013 at 3:36 PM

It’s ok. I was being a bit of a pedant.

      • cur68 - May 28, 2013 at 3:40 PM

Someone had the nerve to say that commenters here aren’t very smart. You’re proof that they’re full of crap.

      • ltzep75 - May 28, 2013 at 4:05 PM

I really, really wanted to reply with something mind-numbingly stupid. Instead, all I could think about was what could otherwise be referred to as a “Cepts Greatest Hits Album”. Let’s just say this inspired me to get back to work.

    • dirtyharry1971 - May 28, 2013 at 3:51 PM

You aint kidding, hey i hope this guy is alright because i will miss that 5.50 ERA in action!! Also i just wanted to say its refreshing to see someone post good stuff on here instead of the usual lame stuff proudlycanadian writes on here over and over and over again. Keep up the good work

      • nbjays - May 28, 2013 at 5:21 PM

Speaking of the usual lame stuff over and over… hi, Harry!

      • dirtyharry1971 - May 28, 2013 at 6:42 PM

i see the jays had another fine pitching performance today nbjays, enjoy last place!

  3. insidefastball - May 28, 2013 at 1:51 PM

The way he has pitched this year we could speculate about his health after every start. Nothing seems to be going right for him this season.

  4. 1943mrmojorisin1971 - May 28, 2013 at 1:54 PM

The pitch Bautista just hit was clocked at 61mph…

  5. jaysfan64 - May 28, 2013 at 2:06 PM

In Jays vernacular, “forearm” often means “elbow”….

  6. proudlycanadian - May 28, 2013 at 2:15 PM

    Gattis is very good.

    • dirtyharry1971 - May 28, 2013 at 11:05 PM

and the jays pitching staff is very bad

  7. thebadguyswon - May 28, 2013 at 2:16 PM

He should have stayed a closer.

  8. jaysfan64 - May 28, 2013 at 2:20 PM

Gattis is a beast – the real deal…

    • cur68 - May 28, 2013 at 2:29 PM

Jack Morris had the best plan to pitch to him: keep the pitch up and away or in the middle. With the way Gattis stands and his quickness, anything low and away, middle or in, will be hit hard as his swing is rising. But a high pitch will be popped. Don’t even bother with up and in: he stands right on top of the plate and leaning over the chalk, so the risk of hitting him is too high.

      And yeah, a total beast.

    • dirtyharry1971 - May 28, 2013 at 6:42 PM

sure he is, just like drabek and synder were

      • cur68 - May 28, 2013 at 11:59 PM

Hey there, y’ole Poo Flinger. Rivera get that save tonight? YOU know. The game vs The Mets? You ARE a Yankee Fan, right? Only I never see you on any of THEIR articles. Just here on Beaver ones.

Anyhow, go bathe, eh? You still smell like crap.
