Ian Kinsler has developed a stress reaction in his right ribcage and will be sidelined for at least two more weeks. He is eligible to come off the disabled list Sunday but he has not resumed baseball activities.

He’s been on the DL since May 18.

More time for Jurickson Profar, who has hit .304/.320/.478 in six games since coming up.

Can you say Wally Pipp? Sure, I knew that you could. Kinsler may be trade bait by the time he is ready to return because he looks to be a rare, special talent.

Profar has his chance, and from what I have seen the last week, this kid is dynamite on the field. They say it is hard to see the intangibles, but Profar makes it easy. His talent is easy to spot, and his enthusiasm for the game is contagious. He has a knack for the big stage and the dramatic moment which you can’t teach. After Trout, Harper, Machado, Darvish, and a couple pitchers like Matt Moore, Kershaw, Strasberg etc….who may be on a different planet, this kid is part of another wave backing up last year. It’s what keeps baseball interesting for me, after watching and playing for 57 of my 62 years

I doubt Kinsler will be traded. He’s got the baggage of long and expensive contract. Only Beltre is paid more than Kinsler But the middle infield is a bit crowded with Kinsler, Garcia, Andrus, and Profar.

Move Kinsler to RF and trade Cruz for a package that includes a middle reliever.
