Rockies closer Rafael Betancourt, playing through groin pain, has been put on the 15-day disabled list, tweets Tracy Ringolsby. Betancourt has a 3.20 ERA on the season but has allowed multiple runs in two out of his three most recent outings, including last night against the Dodgers.

Troy Renck spoke to manager Walt Weiss recently, who said that Rex Brothers would most likely pick up the save opportunities. Brothers, a lefty, has a 0.38 ERA in 23.2 innings on the season.
