Jacoby Ellsbury is improving

Jacoby Ellsbury sat out his second straight game last night. And may miss a third today given that the Sox have an offday tomorrow and giving him four straight days off to recover may be ideal, but his groin is doing much better according to John Farrell in the Boston Globe:

“Not ruling out [Sunday] as his availability. But, still, we’ve got to monitor and check in on him each day he comes to park here. The improvement is encouraging today.”

Jackie Bradley, Jr. was 3 for 5 and scored two runs in Ellsbury’s place last night. Look for him to get the start again tonight.

Pleased to read that Farrell plans to check out Ellsbury’s groin every day.

What would Gibby do? Stop criticizing Farrell’s every move. His leaving the Blue Jays isn’t a swipe at Canadians.

Something tells me Gibby doesn’t even know what a groin is. I understand its hard to get a quality manager to work in a second rate city but how on earth did they decide to bring back this clown? In nearly four seasons he was a .500 manager. At least Cito had a championship track record. That would be like the Red Sox brining back Kevin Kennedy or the Yanks dusting off Stump Merrill.

Farrell is a self described opportunist who has a worse career record than Gibbons. And no, I have not criticized his every move. Life is much too short to get into that detail.

In Proudly’s defense, I have yet to read where he’s criticized Farrell’s wife’s hairdo.
