Someone committed suicide on Red Sox owner John Henry’s yacht

Jun 3, 2013, 1:58 PM EDT

Police and medical personnel were called to the yacht owned by Red Sox owner John Henry early this afternoon. It was unclear what for or if Henry himself were on the yacht. But just a moment ago, this news came out:

It is unclear what, if any connection the young man had to Henry. The Globe speculates that it may have been someone working on the yacht.

    He’s an hero.

    • 18thstreet - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:59 PM

No, making jokes, anonymously, about a suicide makes you a hero.

      • tanzkommandant - Jun 3, 2013 at 4:30 PM

        You’re doing it wrong.

      • 18thstreet - Jun 3, 2013 at 5:14 PM

No, doing it wrong is using such a specific pseudonym. Because that could lead one to a Flickr account using that same specific pseudonym, apparently using your real first and last name for that account.

        That’s doing it wrong.

It would be exciting if you posted my real name & outed me.

the team must be really bad

    • aceshigh11 - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:56 PM

Yup, the team that’s up 2 1/2 games in the AL East is really bad.

      You totally nailed, Carnac.

      • protius - Jun 4, 2013 at 5:46 AM

You’re confusing division standing with team quality. They’re really bad, they just lead the division by 2 1/2 games.

Too much Beer and Fried chicken make you do odd things.

    • heyblueyoustink - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:13 PM

I think when it comes to suicide, everything is odd. Except in a case of folks in a ton of pain with a terminal condition.

    • aceshigh11 - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:54 PM

Shut the hell up with that already…it is BEYOND played. You’re about as cutting edge as vaudeville.

      • 12strikes - Jun 4, 2013 at 8:04 AM

Vaudeville had Beer and Fried chicken jokes?

How do you identify someone as being between 28 and 30? I mean, I get an estimate like “in his twenties” or a precise number like 29, but this seems weird.

    • asimonetti88 - Jun 3, 2013 at 3:54 PM

Just guessing, but they may know who the victim is, and don’t want to get too specific to avoid accidently identifying him before they have a chance to notify family. It is a strange age range though.

  5. proudlycanadian - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:13 PM

    His cabin “boy”?

  6. 13arod - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:47 PM

manute they might have asked john henery his age range

Can’t wait to see all the classy comments for this thread.

    • 18thstreet - Jun 3, 2013 at 2:56 PM

Maybe Craig can just shut down comments on this one.

No, today seems like a good day to lose more faith in the human race.

Yeahhh…wasn’t there something about NBC and Yahoo sports partnership? Many more a trolls roaming the HBT halls

Whew. For a second there I was worried about Bill Buckner till they said the age

    • Old Gator - Jun 3, 2013 at 4:52 PM

Count on you to crawl out from under your trailer with a comment like that.

    • 18thstreet - Jun 3, 2013 at 5:04 PM

You think you’re posting anonymously, but there’s only so many junglerat524s on the Internet.

      • historiophiliac - Jun 3, 2013 at 5:34 PM

Wow, that made me paranoid enough to do a quick search.

Somebody commits suicide and people make jokes??? I guess I missed something, because I don’t find it very funny.

    • rebel21das - Jun 3, 2013 at 7:18 PM

What do you expect from a bunch of losers that hide behind their computers to make what they feel are witty comments but really they’re just contributing to the brain drain of American society. I find it sad on their behalf that they find an moment such as this as a opportunity to shoot out lame duck jokes that I’m sure they think are knee slappers.

Jesus, I hoped they didn’t take Bucky Dent for a cruise, whack him and say it was suicide. People in Boston never have gotten over Bucky hitting that homer.

I thought Dr. Creepy kicked the bucket.

  12. multiplemiggs - Jun 4, 2013 at 10:42 AM

So sad. I feel so bad for him. I know what it is like. One time, when I walked into my 437,000 square foot mansion I found a dead lizard on the floor. It was outrageously shocking. Then I went in my pool.
