Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers’ lineup today

Jun 5, 2013, 11:41 AM EDT

Last night Ryan Braun took the field just moments after ESPN published a report suggesting he could face a suspension for involvement with the Biogenesis clinic. He addressed the media after the game, saying a lot without actually saying much, and now he’s out of the Brewers’ lineup for today’s game.

Of course, Braun has been dealing with a thumb injury for a long time now and it’s caused him to sit out games previously, so odds are the injury and not the ESPN report is behind his spot on the bench today.

Logan Schafer is filling in for Braun in left field against the A’s, making his 10th start of the season.

Suspensions aren’t like the DL Ryan, they aren’t retroactive.

The shame of being a no-good, dirty, rotten, lying cheater must really be a drag. Goodness, gracious.

    /sarcasm

Man, it sure was a shame the way Ryan Braun fucked your mom and stole your lunch money.

I mean, that is what happened, right? Because this level of vitriol over someone taking some steroids would make you a crazy person.

Whoa, who pissed in your Cheerios today?

      • rocketsteadman - Jun 5, 2013 at 1:13 PM

/sarcasm font not working today apparently

      • bsbiz - Jun 5, 2013 at 1:34 PM

I wish someone had pointed out the /sarcasm font was broken before I used it. :'(

    • rcali - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:43 PM

      So good.

  4. sunsation3413 - Jun 5, 2013 at 11:52 AM

A cheater and a liar….hope it was worth it.

    • brewcrewfan54 - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:21 PM

His contract is worth around $120 million. Im sure it was.

      • tycobbfromfangraphs - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:45 PM

Your team might win 1 or 2 World Series every century. You can put that down to 0 if they are going to spend 120 million on lying frauds.

      • rcali - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:45 PM

Sadly, he will have the last laugh, retired by 37 or 38 sipping cold drinks on a tropical island next to his beach house. To be honest, I’m not surprised that players go this route.

      • manchestermiracle - Jun 5, 2013 at 1:08 PM

Here’s hoping he puts about $20M away to deal with the medical aftermath of cheating for money. “Testicles, what testicles?”

      • brewcrewfan54 - Jun 5, 2013 at 1:29 PM

Tycobb, every World Series winner for the last 20 years probably has a lying fraud on them. Those championships aren’t going anywhere. Im not saying its right but the risk is worth it to these guys because if it wasn’t they wouldn’t keep doing it.

  5. specialkindofstupid - Jun 5, 2013 at 11:59 AM

So he has to sit and watch the Brewers play up close today? Yikes. I hope it was worth it, Ryan.

  6. sisisisisisisi - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:08 PM

Ryan Braun bet his life that those stuffs never entered his body
that was pretty bold when he made that statement

    • pesky99 - Jun 5, 2013 at 1:38 PM

I guess since he bet his “life”, then that means that he needs to sacrific his life since he obviously (and we all knew he did a long time ago) lied- right?
If you bet your life brawn and you lose, then you have to kill yourself!

  7. spideysdog - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:18 PM

    rufuscornpone,

I think the vitriol is more directed at the fact that
    a. fans like to believe in people
    b. he lied to all our faces
    c. he is going to screw the Brewers out of potentially 100 games of his high paid service due to his own selfish actions
    d. fans are a little tired of the steroid era
    e. he suckered a small market team into a hefty contract for a ton of negative press
    f. he screwed his teammates

    just saying…..

    • stercuilus65 - Jun 5, 2013 at 8:15 PM

I would get every game in I could you bug eyed lying sack of shit because you are going to have plenty of time off real soon…

  8. muskyhunter2542 - Jun 5, 2013 at 12:36 PM

Ryan Braun is a serial dog and cat killer and he killed all your pets!!!

  9. Sports King of this world - Jun 5, 2013 at 2:01 PM

Where there’s smoke there’s fire. This dude is a liar. He’s been linked to twice now to steroids. But yet he’s done nothing. Yeah sure!!!

  10. barkleyblows - Jun 5, 2013 at 4:27 PM

Hahaha doesn’t matter how many cheaters the Brewers have…. They will never win a world series.

  11. stultusmagnus - Jun 5, 2013 at 7:12 PM

there’s no reason to play if gallardo is pitching. why put your A team out there when your “ace” is gonna give up runs every inning? The ’27 yanks couldn’t bail that guy out.

His FedEx delivery of urine was late again.
