Watch Yasiel Puig crush his first major league homer

Jun 5, 2013, 12:22 AM EDT

After going 2-for-4 with a game-ending outfield assist in his debut Monday, Yasiel Puig kept the hype machine going Tuesday. He doubled off Padres left-hander Clayton Richard in his first at-bat and then did this in his third:

OK, so Richard did pretty much set it up there on a tee for him. But Puig really showed his muscle with the 440-foot rope. And to top things off, he went deep again off Tyson Ross in the sixth.

Might as well update the post with his 2nd homer of the night.

Nice to see the Dodgers have at least something to cheer on this year…

Did he just assume the curtain call? He seemed to go out and wave a bit quickly, no?

Kid will probably be good but hitting a longball off Clayton Richard is nothing new.

    Chicks love ‘em!

Even if he did “tee it up” for him, the hitter still needs to hit it. I can’t count the number of times watching a game when the announcer will note that a hitter “wishes he had that pitch back” because it was hittable and the hitter just missed it. It will be interesting to see how Puig does, especially after pitchers get to know him and make adjustments.

I wish the Dodgers had more You Gotta See This moments, because that would mean more Vin Scully voiced clips.

Dodger trade if they can find anyone to take Eithier
