Chad Gaudin throws up twice, notches quality start anyway

Giants starter Chad Gaudin held the Diamondbacks to two runs over six innings this afternoon in Arizona. He allowed just five hits and one walk while striking out seven, notching his second consecutive quality start in as many opportunities since joining the rotation last Sunday.

Via CSN Bay Area’s Andrew Baggarly, there was something else that made Gaudin’s performance even more impressive:

Gritty.

Arizona has already made an offer of Tyler Skaggs, Archie Bradley, and $5 million for Gaudin upon hearing of this.

I only threw up once while typing this comment, which – I believe – is why it’s so damned boring…

I don’t know if it was gritty. But it was certainly gut-sy.
