David Price was expected to need three or four rehab starts, but after impressing everyone with a simulated game yesterday he’s apparently ahead of schedule. From

Maddon was so impressed with his ace that he said the plans for Price’s return would be accelerated.

“He’s actually exceeding expectations a little bit,” Maddon said. “I thought he could have pitched today in an actual game …┬áHe’s accelerated; there’s no question,” he added. “I just have to sit down and talk with everybody before I give you guys bad information. I just saw a guy who was a lot further along than we thought.”

He’ll still likely do a rehab assignment next week, but don’t be surprised if it only lasts one start.

He should change his middle initial to “X.”

David Price is ahead of a schedule. That’s good because he’s way behind on the “pitch like an ace all year again” schedule. Hopefully being ahead of one schedule can get him chasing that other train.

Something tells me he had this injury before his last start. Hopefully now it’s healed and he can play like an ace again

Ahead of schedule? Didn’t they say when he first went on the DL it was going to be a quick 15 day stint?

“He’ll miss two maybe three stars” That was over a month ago.
