Tigers activate Austin Jackson, send Avisail Garcia back to minors

Austin Jackson is back from the disabled list after missing the past month with a hamstring injury and to make room for his return the Tigers optioned Avisail Garcia to Triple-A.

Garcia fared well filling in for Jackson, hitting .288 with two homers and a .778 OPS in 24 games, but at age 22 the Tigers obviously want him playing every day and apparently aren’t willing to bench Andy Dirks yet.

Jackson was off to a slow start before the injury, but if he’s healthy and playing like he did last season the Tigers’ offense will be even scarier.

No seriously, how do you feel about it?

More than for ice cream but less than Don Kelly being released…or Brian Wilson joining the den! Rowr!

More than cake, less than pie, more than whiskey, less than cider … but what about bread pudding?

        Rowr is just hilarious btw.

About the same as tequila but less than bread pudding (bread pudding = Brian Wilson comes to the D). :)

Avisail Garcia could bring in a ton of relief help, IMO.

you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about, Austin Jackson was primed for An All star game before the injury….maybe the tigers best player before he got hurt, glad he’s back tho…top the center fielders in the league

I pretty much agree with this comment. Jackson started April quickly. He was playing through the injury before he finally hit the DL, so his batting line is depressed because of the injury.

The best part of this is having AJ back. Second best is not seeing Don Kelly’s name in the lineup every other game.

      Wanna bet?

Should’ve kept Garcia and sent Dirks to Toledo. His absence in winter ball absolutely killed his performance this year. Last year he was World Series hero down there and proceeded to hit .320 with solid defense for the Tigers in his first go around. This year… Not so much
